This seems like it’s going to be the creme de la creme in terms of gas powered RC car drivers “Brunei’s top drivers like Haji Irman Bin Hj Mashud, Ahmad Zamhari and Wirawan Hj Hamidon are expected to give the foreign participants a good run for their money.”
Top drivers from east Malaysia, Mr Chortee and David Tan, will also be in the race. Other drivers from Sabah, Sarawak, Indonesia will also be testing their driving skills on the remote car circuit to take home the championship trophy.
Here’s what The reporter had to say about it.
The two categories are 1:10 as powered Touring car and 1:8 nitro formula.
The brands of remote control cars in both categories are Kyosho Evolva, Serpent 960 07 for 1:8 category and X ray NT1, Kyosho RRR, Mugen Saki MTX4 and Serpent 720 for 1:10 category.
It is organised in conjunction with his-Majesty’s 61st birthday celebration by the Association of PEMKAR with support from the Organising committee for His Majesty’s 61st birthday celebration. The competition aims to promote the sport of remote control in Brunei Darussalam and lift up the standard of play of remote control drivers.

I’m always looking for
gas powered remote control cars news but instead found this article about this guy trying to get a electric car to up to 200 mph.
The project is called X2 and was designed on the same computer program used to build airplanes, it has a funky looking design and drives backwards.
Here are some of the details from the builder Nick Maslowski himself.
“I started with the design phase on a CAD program called CATIA V5 (Boeing uses this program to design their planes, I work for Boeing as an aerospace engineer). I spent 6 months designing it, then 2 months ago I built it, and now I am testing the X2. My ultimate goal is to reach 200 mph by next years Worlds Fastest RC car contest held by RC Car Action magazine.”

3 reasons why gas powered remote control cars are the best choice for you if your planning to make this a real hobby.
First of all speed and performance:
Gas powered remote control cars and trucks outperform any toy store car not only in speed , but cornering, jumping, and climbing to name a few.
Secondly ability to upgrade: Hobby RC cars can be modified for style and performance with a wide selection of parts and supplies. Faster motors , different bodies, tires, aluminum and titanium parts. The choices are endless and if you like building things then it’s also alot of fun too.
And third price: toy store RC cars still have the advantage in this category but now even the most expensive toy store RC cars performance still is no competition in comparison to the least expensive hobby car.
